First 90 Days:

Track 1 FIRST 90 DAYS:

Building the Foundation

The First 90 Days helps members handle essential reentry needs and prepare for their next step.

Support may include:

  • ID, DMV and Social Security needs

  • Transportation and banking

  • Technology and computer skills

  • Resume and employment preparation

  • HR, tax and small-business basics

  • Goal setting and individual support

Independence is born from dependence.

The Goal: Get stable. Get prepared.

The First Step Forward

Coming home can mean dealing with many things at once. Finding work is important, but employment can be difficult to maintain when someone is still trying to replace identification, arrange transportation, access technology, open a bank account, or understand basic workplace systems.

That is why the Dog’s Train Home journey begins with stability.

During the First 90 Days, we work with each member to identify the practical barriers standing between where they are now and where they want to go.

Rather than following a one-size-fits-all checklist, support is based on the individual. One member may need help navigating DMV paperwork. Another may need computer skills, employment preparation, transportation support, or guidance setting up the basics for self-employment.

Support With Direction

The First 90 Days also gives members time to think about what comes next.

Together, we identify goals, strengths, immediate priorities and longer-term ambitions. Members begin creating a realistic path forward while receiving the guidance and accountability needed to keep moving.

For some, that next step will be Dog’s Train Home’s professional dog-training mentorship. For others, additional employment or personal goals may need to be addressed alongside it.

From Support to Independence

We believe asking for and receiving support should not be seen as the opposite of independence, it is how independence begins.

With the right guidance, resources and opportunities, members can gradually take greater responsibility for their own decisions, careers and futures.

The First 90 Days gives them a place to start.

Get stable. Get prepared. Then build from there.
