Track 3 GRADUATE:
Taking the Career Into the Community
This track helps graduates begin working as dog trainers in the communities where they want to build their future.
DTH connects graduates with rescue dogs needing ongoing training and pays the graduate for their work.
Graduates can build:
Paid training experience
Rescue and client relationships
Professional references
Photos and videos for their portfolio
Local reputation and referrals
Independent business opportunities
The Goal: Work. Build a reputation. Create a career.
From Training to Paid Work
Reaching graduate level is an important milestone, but building a career takes more than completing a training program.
Graduates need opportunities to work independently, prove themselves professionally, and begin building relationships in the communities where they want to establish their future.
Track 3 is designed to help make that transition.
Building a Local Presence
Dog’s Train Home works with graduates to identify the area where they want to live and work, then looks for rescue dogs in that community that would benefit from ongoing training.
This gives graduates the chance to start creating a professional presence where they actually want to build their career.
Instead of gaining experience somewhere temporary, they begin forming connections with rescues, fosters, adopters and potential future clients in their own area.
Paid Experience With Real Responsibility
Graduates are paid by Dog’s Train Home for the training they provide.
This is an important shift from learning under a mentor to being trusted to deliver the work themselves.
They are responsible for planning sessions, communicating clearly, demonstrating training techniques, supporting the person caring for the dog, and helping maintain consistency between sessions.
That responsibility helps graduates develop the confidence and professionalism needed to work independently.
Creating Future Opportunities
A successful training relationship can lead to much more than one dog.
Rescues and fosters may recommend the graduate to other dog owners, future adopters or partner organizations. Strong work can lead to references, repeat opportunities and word-of-mouth referrals.
Each successful placement helps the graduate build something valuable: a name, a network and a reputation.
Building a Career That Can Continue
Track 3 is not simply about giving graduates another training assignment.
It is about helping them begin creating a sustainable path forward.
The photos, videos, references, paid experience and community relationships they build can become part of a professional portfolio, résumé, employment application or independent dog-training business.
This is where the support provided throughout Dog’s Train Home begins to turn into something the graduate can continue building for themselves.
Do the work. Build trust. Become known for what you do.
