Aspen is another Craigslist story. Two men living out of an apartment in Palmdale was advertising him for free. They were unable to sell him because of the blemish in one of his eyes. When Aspen was handed to @MadLoveAnimalRescue he was drenched in urine and his ribs were popping out form lack of food.
Plan:
Aspen has puppy energy and is struggling with potty training and obedience. Melvin has recommended a 10 - 12 weeks training program for basic obedience. This program is 50/50 dog and human training. The rescue is fully committed and if Aspen is adopted during training the new owner will take over Aspen's training program. Should the adopter not be local, Aspen will remain with the rescue until training is completed.

First training session today: Aspen has great pack drive which means he likes to follow his pack leader. After getting him used to how to follow on the leash it is now up to his person, Nikki from @MadLoveAnimalRescue to become that pack leader for him to keep up the work.

Second session with Aspen: He is an amazing dog and is really understanding what is being asked of him. Also,Nikki from @MadLoveAnimalRescue is doing great work in-between session. Dog training is 50/50 dog and human and Nikki is doing just as good as Aspen. Today Melvin work more on leash work and teach the follow state.

Over the last 10 weeks Melvin has taught Aspen the basics to make him a well rounded dog for his next lucky owner. And Nikki from @MadLoveAnimalRescue has given Aspen so much commitment and and love to make this happen.
