Dog's Train Home raises money through fundraising and then acts as an intermediary  to match a rescue and dog with a trainer. ​

Rescue 

• Have completed a prison dog training programming and passed with certification.    
• Have spent time with our mentor trainer and vice president, Isaac De La Rose. 
• Are committed and can demonstrate that they are setting up or working as a dog trainer independently of our program. 

• Must have a dog in their care, NOT in foster. 
• Can commit to weekly sessions of 6 to 12 weeks. 
• If the dog is adopted the rescue agrees to attend sessions WITH the new owners for the full program.  

(After adoption the new owner receives 2 free training sessions with the trainer. This can be via zoom if long distance.) 

The goal is to help new trainers kick start their private dog training business and to train dogs in basic obedience.

We prefer to work with the same trainer and rescue person for 2 to 3 dogs. This is because dog training is equally divided between training the dog and the person. If the same rescue person can attend multiple sessions with different dogs, we hope that the rescue will gain valuable training experience for other dogs coming through their doors. Furthermore, for the trainer, getting to know the rescue and showcasing their skills is fundamental to gaining future business and referrals to expand their business.

We are not currently running a board and train program.

Donation

Donation allocation is our utmost priority. Donations are for the training of dogs or educational help for members. The charity can not pay for boarding without training, so if a dog is in the board and train program and the dog's training ends the dog must be returned to the rescue immediately.
