Today, we are excited to announce that Isaac DeLaRose has joined Dog's Train Home as our Vice President. Isaac brings a wealth of experience and passion to our organization, having graduated from a prison dog training program and working as a trainer and mentor in the Pawsitive Change Dog Program.
As Vice President, Isaac will be responsible for overseeing the training and mentorship, as well as providing guidance and support to individuals who have graduated from prison dog training programs and are interested in pursuing a career as a dog trainer. At Dog's Train Home, we believe that every dog deserves a second chance, and that includes the dogs who have been abandoned or relinquished due to behavioral problems. Our mission is to raise funds to provide training for these dogs, with the goal of finding them permanent homes. We partner with rescue organizations to provide training to their dogs, and also serve as a resource and support system for individuals who are interested in pursuing a career as a dog trainer. We offer the opportunity to gain hands-on paid training experience under the guidance and mentorship of Isaac for select candidates. We are working on offering free webinars covering a range of topics, from business advice to employment rights, to our community members. We are thrilled to have Isaac on board as our Vice President, and we look forward to the positive impact he will make on the lives of both the dogs and the individuals who are a part of our organization. If you are interested in joining our community and participating in our dog training program, we welcome you to submit your request below. Together, we can give dogs and people a second chance at a better life.

Reintegrating into society after serving a prison sentence can be a difficult and often overwhelming experience for many individuals. While some people are able to smoothly transition back into their communities, others face a number of challenges that can make the process of coming home from prison more difficult.
One of the biggest challenges that many prisoners face is finding employment. Many employers are hesitant to hire individuals with a criminal record, which can make it difficult to find work and support themselves financially. This can lead to a cycle of poverty and unemployment, which can be difficult to break. Another challenge they may face is finding housing. Many landlords are also hesitant to rent to individuals with a criminal record, which can make it difficult to find a place to live. This can lead to homelessness or a reliance on temporary or transitional housing, which may not provide the stability and support that is needed to successfully reintegrate into society. In addition to the practical challenges of finding employment and housing, there is also the social stigma and discrimination. This can make it difficult for them to rebuild relationships with their families and communities and may lead to feelings of isolation and exclusion. Finally, legal restrictions and limitations on their freedoms. For example, they may be required to report to a parole officer, adhere to certain rules and regulations, or be subject to drug testing. These restrictions can make it difficult for to fully participate in their communities and may create additional barriers to their successful reintegration. Overall, the difficulties that prisoners face when coming home from prison can be numerous and complex. It is important for communities to support ex-prisoners in their efforts to reintegrate into society and provide resources such as job training, housing assistance, and support groups to help them successfully transition back into the outside world. When someone is sentenced to prison, they often leave behind their loved ones, their freedom, and their sense of purpose. While serving their time, many prisoners struggle with feelings of isolation, frustration, and hopelessness. However, there are programs that aim to provide prisoners with the skills and support they need to successfully reintegrate into society and lead fulfilling lives. One such program is dog training.
One of the main benefits of this program is that it provides inmates with a sense of purpose. Many prisoners struggle with boredom and a lack of direction upon release. By providing them with a meaningful activity to focus on, such as training dogs, it can help them to stay motivated and focused. This can be particularly important for inmates who have struggled with addiction or mental health issues in the past. Another key benefit of this program is that it provides inmates with a valuable skill set that they can use to secure employment upon release. With the dog training industry growing at a rapid pace, there is a high demand for skilled trainers. This program gives inmates the opportunity to gain the skills and experience they need to secure a job in this field. In addition, dog training can also provide prisoners with a sense of accomplishment and self-esteem. It allows them to learn new skills and take pride in their work, which can be especially important for those who may have struggled with self-worth prior to their incarceration. There are also numerous benefits to the dogs involved in these programs. Many of the dogs that are trained by prisoners are rescue dogs who may otherwise have been euthanized. By providing these dogs with training and socialization, they are more likely to be adopted into loving homes. Overall, dog training programs for prisoners can be a powerful tool for personal and societal transformation. By providing prisoners with the skills and support they need to succeed, these programs can help to break the cycle of incarceration and promote positive change in our communities. |
